class=\"middle_content\">\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<div class=\"middle_content\">\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>Born on 11 April 1944, in Turda, Cluj county, Romania.<\/p>\n<p>Graduated the Arts Highschool (1963) and Ion Andreescu Arts Institute \u2013 Sculpture Department (1969), Cluj Napoca.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1971 Maniu has participated in regional, national and international exhibitions organized by the Romanian Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n<p>In 1983 he moved to K\u00f6ln \u2013 Germany, an in 1993 he settled in Paris, France.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous personal and group exhibitions in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, France.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1986 Maniu has regularly participated in the traditional Salons in Paris.<br \/>\nVarious galleries have presented Maniu at International Art Fairs in Basel, Geneva, Rome, Barcelona, Brussels, Hamburg, New York, Miami.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1996 his work has been on permanent display at the Opera Gallery in Paris, London, Venice, Monte Carlo, Geneva, New York, Miami, Singapore, Honk Kong, Seoul and Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>Represented Romania as a Guest of Honour at International Fine Arts Salons organized by French local government.<\/p>\n<p>Awards and prizes : The First Prize and Gold Medal of the National Federation of French Culture (1987) ; The Great Award of the European \u00abArt and Trade\u00bb Biennial under the high patronage of the French Ministry of Culture (1996) ; the Gold Medal awarded by the \u00abFrench Merrit and Devotion\u00bb High Commission for Reward (Commission superieure des recompenses) (2000); the \u00abCultural Merit\u00bb Order in the rank of officer, awarded by the Romanian Presidency (2004) ; \u00abSenior of the City\u00bb distinction awarded by the Mayor of Cluj Napoca (2009) ; Title \u201cHonorary Ambassador of Romanian culture in Germany\u201d awarded by the Businessmen Club of the german language from Northern Transylvania \u2013 DWNT (2015).<\/p>\n<p>His paitings are part of numerous important private art collections all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Works in museums and public collections : the National Art Museum in Cluj-Napoca, the Contemporary Art Museum in Galati, Albrecht Durer Museum in N\u00fcrnberg \u2013 Germany, the International Museum of Fantastic Art in Ch\u00e2teau Gruyeres \u2013 Switzerland, Volkswagen Society in Wolfsburg \u2013 Germany, Manheimer Insurance Company \u2013 Germany, Transilvania Bank \u2013 Cluj-Napoca, the International Arhitecture Consortium in Alabama \u2013 USA, Missoni Society, Milano \u2013 Italy, Frank M\u00fcller Society
